3G Andrew Kong (1)

After the visit to Down Syndrome Association, it has deeply impacted me in many ways. Changing my thoughts and mindset towards helping people who are less fortunate than most of us. By helping out in any way we can, it can help make a difference in the lives of others, be it big or small.

The best experience was working together with friends and bonding while at the same time contributing to the community. My worst experience was probably facing troubles along the way. Such as in the Down Syndrome Association, where we were faced with many tasks like how to pack the materials and in what way could we help their thrift shop. I sacrificed time to help in whatever way I could and I felt it was time well spent.

In future years, I will do my best and what is in my power to help the comunity. Simple acts such as volunteering at an old folks' home can help these people cope with their lives. Service learning is an important part of Victoria School's Community Involvement Programme and wil definately impact every Victorian's life.
